What an amazing day we had yesterday– We braved the weather ( thank you Sophie for driving) and arrived in Manchester for the IDTA Theatre Dance Awards at the RCN.
Florence Sudborough had been nominated for her Grade 4 Ballet in her exam session. There were 600 children across the genres ( ballet, tap, modern and Theatre Craft ) who had been nominated from over 7,500 exams taken across England and internationally, so what an achievement.
It was a very busy day, buzzing with electricity as nominees took to the stage . In Flo’s grade section there were a 148 nominees to compete against, the talent on the stage was amazing and mind blowing. Flo danced beautifully and was one of 35 recalled to perform again.
Results time – we sat there anxiously with fingers and toes crossed and I was so proud when
Flo was called out for a special commendation award!
One mega proud dance teacher .
I am so lucky to teach such talented children in my school, the work ethic for me and our teachers is outstanding.
Break a leg to our next nominee for 2021 Ellie Gorin also nominated for her grade 4 Ballet exam.
Hoping that there will be some other nominees to join her .
